Pretty good if you are able to get over the insanely hard controls. Even in an ice level this would be too much.
The only reason I didn't give up is because I'm not lettin a Mario themed game beat me. Never!
I didn't appreciate the fake blocks in level 27. That was such a nasty troll.
The music is nice, helps with the rage this game builds up.

Pro tip:
Don't move when you get on a bullet bill. Just jump in time.

That was insane.
I was about to give it a low score because I thought the jumping was random, but then I read the description and decided to give it another go. I figured it out eventually.
Getting used to this was really hard, but I guess that was the point.
Figuring out the controls like that is a pretty interesting concept, nice game.

Pretty good.
The levels were very good, they all felt fair. I just wish everything (including the character) was a tad faster. The sticky walking noise and the sharp music also became a bit annoying after a while. Despite those issues I really enjoyed this game.

I liked it, it ran pretty smooth too. I feel that a small delay for the turning might've helped me control the character a bit better, maybe the framerate is a bit high or something.
The concept of the game was simple, yet fun.
One of the buttons in the garage acted a little buggy, I could run through it and it made the 'click button' noise for 3 steps. After that I couldn't finish the level. After resetting the level and being more careful with the button I did finish the level.
Music might've ruined the atmosphere but some ambient noises could spice things up a bit.
Hopefully you'll make a longer version of this, with more enemies/obstacles. The concept is great.

It's pretty good, but you should be more careful with the level design.
Often there are situations where you need certain timing at the end of a level, and if you didn't get it right you're screwed. These timing puzzles would be acceptable for really small levels, but for these levels it got kinda frustrating. It would be better if there was some way to control the timing before obstacles like this (like small pits to trap the player).
It would also be nice if you were able to hold the jump button to 'hop' around. It can prevent button mashing when landing on small platforms.
Overall it's pretty good, and I liked the music. I hope to see a longer version of this game with more content (more enemies, bosses...).

Nice game.
Just a few remarks. The space station looks really pretty, I wish the enemies and the player looked pretty too. It was hard to overlook the fact that the player was a yellow orb.
I liked the music, it didn't get old.
Flying into the center with the juggernaut looked kinda... weird. Maybe add a small forcefield in the center to prevent this?
Overall it's a fun game, I'm hoping to survive longer than 2 minutes someday.

Very nice.
I really like games with a ton of levels.
The acceleration feels awkward, I think it could use some tweeking. After all the levels are supposed to provide the challenge, not the controls.
Other than that this is a very fun game.
One thing I did notice is that the 4 challenging doors at the end can be entered. Am I supposed to enter them with the forcefield thing in front of them or is it a bug? (I did complete the first 20 levels first, so they could be bonus areas)

JeffreyDriver responds:

Thanks for the feedback. Those doors can be entered when they appear. They are bonus levels, unlocked by picking up the trophies.

Nice game.
It's an interesting concept. The graphics don't need to be more for this game. The only thing it's missing is some music.
Adam Le doux seems to know of a way to add a music loop: https://itch.io/t/147202/adding-a-soundmusic-assets-to-a-bitsy-game
(I hope it's okay to add links in a review)
I also noticed the (probably unfinished) mouse controls. Maybe you should've left these out, I'm sure everyone has a keyboard.

It's alright, but some tweeks could've made this a lot better.
A very basic death animation would've come a long way.
Since you where able to bind fire to the right mouse button you could've made it reload, I realise this may make things a bit easy but right now the main difficulty seems to be reloading in time to shoot the enemies (and the pedestrians, which is spot on). If this would make things too easy not having to actually click on reload would also have helped.
Some destructible items could also be a nice addition.

The music is fitting, and works with the length of the game. Graphics are good, and fit well with the theme.

I know this is a demake and this was made for a jam, but tweeking small things could've made the game more fun. It's still a good entry.

Fun game, but there are some issues.

When I was fighting the first boss, he did his bomb throwing attack without the crosshair. He was stuck in that position and I had to restart. Before he did the attack I tried jumping on top of the little bomb, but I went through. (I'm using chrome, never went fullscreen)
In a lot of situations I would've liked it if the character was a bit smaller. This way it's possible to create more diverse enemy encounters.
The biggest issue I had with the game were the clouds. How was I supposed to know where they would attack? I lost a ton of lifes because of that part.

Other than that I enjoyed it. The bosses are great, trying to find their weaknesses in all those attacks was a lot of fun.
I also liked how the music changed when you go underwater. Apart from the short end game loop (it's playing while I'm writing this and driving me nuts) the music is great.
Seeing that final boss gave me a nice dose of nostalgia.

Keep up the good work!

DannyMrt responds:

When the clouds attack, pay close attention to where they look, that's where they'll strike.
For King Bob-omb, you can only stomp the bomb before he throws it once. You'll have to counter that move in another way. I think you may have found the second way to counter that move via bumping him. You'll have to bump him again while he's unsteady to damage him. That move also has a third way to counter it, but the fun is in finding out how, so I won't say it. Thank you for the feed-back.
